What's New
USA TODAY Network
October 19, 2026
Op-ed by CSA Co-Chairs James Tisch and Harold Hamm, USA TODAY Network. American energy production now plays a larger role in U.S. national security than it did a generation ago. A country that can produce more of its own energy – and supply its allies when markets are disrupted – has greater freedom to act abroad and greater protection from economic shocks at home. That is the premise behind the new bipartisan Secure America Caucus, founded by Republican Rep. Julie Fedorchak of North Dakota and Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey. In this hyper-partisan era, bringing together lawmakers from different parties and different regions who share this fundamental conviction – that American energy production and American national security are inseparable – is a critical imperative.

Edward Cross: Global Demand for Energy is Rising. There’s No Better Place to Produce It Than America
We look around the world today, and ongoing conflicts remind us that secure, reliable access to energy is at the core of our nation’s energy security, as well as the security of America’s allies. But our energy security should never be taken for granted, and we need policies that ensure we can meet our energy needs tomorrow, not just today.
World Oil
June 1, 2026
Writing in World Oil, Edward Cross marks America’s 250th anniversary by spotlighting the U.S. oil and natural gas industry’s role in the nation’s energy leadership and economic strength. He frames the semiquincentennial as an occasion to recognize American energy’s historical significance and argues that progress in energy development is driven by results, not rhetoric.
