NewMed Energy CEO, 2011–2026
Served as CEO of NewMed Energy from 2011 until 2026. Previously served as CEO of Avner Oil Exploration (2016–2017) and led the merger between Avner and Delek Drilling. Served as Chairman of Tamar Petroleum (2017–2019), and from 2018 also served as CEO of Delek Energy. Played a key leadership role in the development of Israel’s major natural gas assets, including the Tamar and Leviathan reservoirs, and in advancing additional exploration and development projects. Spearheaded capital raising efforts of over $5 billion to support the development of the Tamar and Leviathan projects. On behalf of the partnerships, led the negotiation of regional natural gas export agreements with Egypt (2018 and 2025), Jordan, and other countries, establishing strategic relationships with governments and key stakeholders. Also negotiated natural gas sales to the Israeli domestic market, including agreements with the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC). In 2021, he led the sale of Delek Drilling’s stake in the Tamar reservoir to Mubadala Petroleum of Abu Dhabi. Drove forward the strategic rebranding of the partnership, transitioning it from “Delek Drilling” to “NewMed Energy.”
Senior Professional Adviser to the Minister of Finance
Served as Senior Professional Adviser to Israel’s Minister of Finance, where he was involved in shaping the state budget and leading structural reforms in the Israeli economy. He played a role in formulating and implementing economic policy, working closely with various departments within the Ministry of Finance, other government ministries, and the private sector. He was also involved in managing Israel’s fiscal policy during the global financial crisis.
