Legislative Advisory Board Member
Craig W. Brandt is a Republican member of the New Mexico State Senate, representing District 40 in the Rio Rancho area of Sandoval County. First elected in 2013, he serves as Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, one of the chamber’s most influential panels, with jurisdiction over the state budget, appropriations, and tax policy. A member of the clergy by profession, Brandt is among the senior Republican voices on New Mexico’s fiscal and energy-revenue questions.
His committee portfolio extends across several interim and oversight bodies, including the Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy Committee, the New Mexico Finance Authority Oversight Committee, the Mortgage Finance Authority Act Oversight Committee, and the Legislative Finance Committee in a standing advisory capacity. He also serves in advisory roles on the Water and Natural Resources Committee and the Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee, and holds a special advisory seat on the Legislative Council.
Senator Brandt serves on the Council for a Secure America’s Legislative Advisory Board (LAB), anchoring CSA’s New Mexico engagement and its Permian Basin and national-laboratory work in the state.
