Founder and President
John Harpole is the founder and President of Mercator Energy, a Littleton, Colorado natural gas marketing and consulting firm he established in 1993 that works with producers, end-users, and policymakers across the natural gas value chain. Before founding Mercator, he managed natural gas purchasing for General Electric facilities across the United States, experience that grounded a long career in interstate pipeline dynamics and regional gas pricing.
Mr. Harpole has spent more than four decades in the U.S. natural gas industry and has been an active voice connecting domestic production to national security policy. He is a frequent speaker and advisor on natural gas markets to producers, utilities, and energy users.
