Casey Snider

Republican, Utah House of Representatives, District 5
Member, Legislative Advisory Board

Casey Snider is a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives, where he represents District 5 in Cache County and serves as House Majority Leader. He first took office in 2018 after a special election and was elected to the chamber’s second-ranking leadership post by the House Republican caucus in June 2025. His committee work centers on the state budget and resource policy. He sits on the Executive Appropriations Committee, the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environmental Quality Appropriations Subcommittee, the Public Utilities and Energy Committee, and the Legislative Water Development Commission.

Before the legislature, Snider built a career in natural-resources and public-lands policy. He worked as legislative director for U.S. Representative Rob Bishop and as a staffer on the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, and he now serves as executive director of the Bear River Land Conservancy. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and a master’s in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University, and he farms in Cache County and volunteers as a firefighter. That combination of energy and public-utilities oversight in the legislature and a federal background in resource policy grounds his relevance to questions of domestic energy security.
