Republican, Wyoming State Senate, District 25
Member, Legislative Advisory Board
Cale Case is a Republican member of the Wyoming State Senate, representing District 25 in Fremont County. He was first elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives in 1992 and has held his Senate seat since 1999, making him one of the chamber’s longest-serving members. He chairs the Senate Corporations, Elections and Political Subdivisions Committee and sits on the Senate Revenue Committee. He also chairs the Select Committee on Tribal Relations and the Select Committee on Legislative Facilities, Technology and Process.
Case is a natural resource economist by training, with a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate in economics from the University of Wyoming, and he works as a consultant outside the legislature. His committee work keeps him close to energy policy: the Revenue Committee governs the mineral and severance taxes that underwrite Wyoming’s budget, and he serves on the Council of State Governments West Energy and the Grid committee. That combination of formal training in resource economics and a legislative portfolio centered on energy taxation and utilities in the nation’s top coal-producing state is the basis for his role on CSA’s Legislative Advisory Board.
