Chief Executive Officer
Rock Zierman is Chief Executive Officer of the California Independent Petroleum Association (CIPA), the Sacramento-based trade association representing independent crude oil and natural gas producers in California. He has worked with CIPA since October 2002. Before being appointed CEO, he served both as Director of Public Affairs for CIPA and as Executive Director of the California Natural Gas Producers Association (CNGPA), a wholly owned subsidiary of CIPA.
Zierman recommends and implements policy for the Association’s board of directors, serves as CIPA’s chief spokesperson, and coordinates all of its state and national legislative activities. He also serves on the boards of directors of the Domestic Energy Producers Alliance (DEPA) and the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA).
Prior to joining CIPA, Zierman served as Chief of Staff to California Assemblyman Mike Briggs of Fresno and worked in the offices of Assemblymembers Chuck Quackenbush, Tom Bordonaro, and Robert Prenter. He graduated from Santa Clara University with a business degree in economics. His engagement with CSA strengthens the link between California energy production and the national-security questions CSA exists to inform.
