Sander R. Gerber serves on the Board of Advisors of the Council for a Secure America. He is Managing Partner, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Hudson Bay Capital Management, a global investment management firm he co-founded in 2005. In 2008 he developed the Gerber Statistic, a co-movement measure for portfolio risk that he later published in work co-authored with Nobel laureate Harry Markowitz.
Mr. Gerber has been a leading voice in U.S.-Israel policy. He is a fellow and board member of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, where he published research on Palestinian Authority “pay-for-slay” payments that became the foundation for the Taylor Force Act, and he is a Distinguished Fellow of the Gemunder Center for Defense and Strategy at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America. In 2017 he received JINSA’s Henry M. “Scoop” Jackson Distinguished Service Award. He served on the national board of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee from 2004 to 2016 and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in finance from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts in humanistic philosophy from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude.
