The Honorable Fred Zeidman

Director

Fred Zeidman serves as Co-Chairman Emeritus and a Director of the Council for a Secure America. A prominent Houston-based business and civic leader, he was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2002 as Chairman of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council and served in that role through 2010. He is also Chairman Emeritus of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Mr. Zeidman serves as Chairman of Gordian Group LLC, a U.S. investment bank specializing in board-level advice on complex, distressed, and special-situation financial matters. Over a career of more than five decades, he has been involved in numerous high-profile restructurings and reorganizations. He was previously CEO, President, and Chairman of Seitel, Inc., and Chairman and CEO of Unibar Corporation, then the largest domestic independent drilling fluids company.

He serves on the board of the Development Corporation for Israel (Israel Bonds) and has served on the board of the National World War II Museum. He has been named three times to the Forward’s list of the 50 most influential Jews in America, and he served on the U.S. delegation to the OSCE conference on antisemitism in Berlin.
