David Krieger is the Founder and Managing Partner of Tupper Lake Partners, a venture studio focused on emerging digital technologies that serve the energy industry. David and his team of accomplished executives believe that both fossil fuels and renewable energy will both be critical for energy supply and security for the foreseeable future, and look to introduce technologies to the market that make the generation and transmission of both molecules and electrons more affordable, efficient and sustainable for broad consumption.
Mr. Krieger retired at the end of 2019 from Warburg Pincus, a global Private Equity firm with over $80 billion under management. In a career that spanned approximately two decades, David led investments in the Energy sector totaling over $3 billion in more than twenty companies – that have grown from startup into operationally successful businesses at scale. As a senior Managing Director and former member of the firm’s Executive Management Group, he sat on the boards of most of these public and private entities, representing either the largest or majority investor in those companies. Highlighting David’s career were upstream exploration and production companies focused broadly in the US, Canada, Europe, Africa, and South America. He brings this broad international experience to CSA with the hopes of promoting affordable and abundant energy here in the US and abroad.
Originally from South Florida, David earned a BSEcon summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania (1994), an MS in Industrial Engineering with high honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology (1995), and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School (2000). Prior to Warburg Pincus, he was an Analyst with McKinsey & Company for nearly 3 years, both in the US (working with manufacturing-oriented companies) and Europe (as a Corporate Finance Specialist). David also sits on several other non-profit boards including the Kaufmann Music Center in New York City, the Houston Symphony, and the Development Board of the University of Texas Health Science Center.
