Jeff Wilson currently serves as the Director of Government and Public Affairs for WPX Energy where he leads the company’s efforts fostering relationships with federal, state, local and tribal officials as well as with a broad array of regulatory bodies and outside stakeholders.
Prior to WPX, Wilson served as Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at SandRidge Energy. While there, he initiated efforts to communicate broadly with the public on critical issues such as induced seismicity and water use in oil and gas operations.
From 2010 to 2014, Wilson served as the Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association. He also served on the staff of United States Senator James Inhofe and led the One Oklahoma Coalition, a non-partisan advocacy campaign responsible for the defeat of State Question 744.
Wilson currently serves on the boards of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, the Council for a Secure America and on the Advisory Council of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute. He previously served on the executive committee and board of directors of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association and is a trustee of the Bethany Public Schools Foundation.
Wilson received his BA in Political Science and History from the University of Oklahoma and is currently pursuing a MA of Global Affairs at the same.
